Soziale Sicherheit, started in 1948, is the professional journal of Austrian social insurance. It is published by the Federation of Social Insurances as part of its statutory duties and in related publications often referred to as “SozSi” or “SoSi”. It is addressed to decision-makers in social insurance institutions, trade union officials, politicians, lawyers and academics.

“Soziale Sicherheit” contains articles on relevant topics in health, accident and pension insurance, taking into account international developments in social law, as well as the legal and socio-political discussion in the areas of legislation, health policy, the legal and financial aspects of pension development and the technological standards in the fields of information and controlling.

“Soziale Sicherheit” is published eleven times per year, including a double issue in the summer. Four of the eleven issues include the supplements “SV Europa News” and “Health System Watch”. These provide information on current developments and events on a European level and report on new academic and scientific insights into the health sector.

All issues from between 1948 and 2019 are available on the website of the Austrian National Library.
