Sharif D. King (born May 7, 1985), professionally known as King Sharif, is an American entertainment and sports journalist, multimedia personality, podcaster, actor, voice-over artist, orator, author, and entrepreneur.[1] With over a decade of experience, King has established himself as a prominent voice across radio, television, and digital platforms.[2][3][4]

Early Life and Education

King was born in Harlem and raised uptown back and fourth between Harlem & The Bronx, New York.[5] He developed an early interest in media, inspired by figures such as Angie Martinez, Sway Calloway, and Oprah Winfrey. He earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in broadcasting from Five Towns College, a bachelor's degree in Media and Communications from SUNY College at Old Westbury, and a master's degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a focus on sports media from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. As of 2021, he was pursuing a second master's degree in Sports Administration at Delaware State University.[6][7][8]

Career

Sharif D. King's career began in the early 2000s with internships at BET Networks and LRG Clothing from 2006 to 2007. He quickly transitioned into media, hosting his first mixtape in 2008.[9][10][11]
