Sawan is a small village of 448.8 hectares in Rasra Tehsil in Ballia district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Sawan depends on Rasra (MB), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Sawan's pin code is 277123[4], and village code is 09156500. The area of Sawan is segregated as 400 hectares irrigated area, 25 hectares unirrigated area. the 10 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 13 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Sawan has One post office (Sawan B.O). Sawan has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Sawan is a census village in the district of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 4584 and has total administration over 671 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Rasra (MB) and Ballia to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
