Nicolas Dupuis (born October 10, 1993) is an experimental jazz composer, producer and keyboardist from Montreal, Canada, who performs as Anomalie.

Early life

Nicolas Dupuis's mother is a piano teacher and music theory teacher, and Dupuis began playing at four years old. His father was a radio host for more than two decades, and hosted a show generally focused on classical music.[1]

Career

Dupuis is influenced by Robert Glasper and Herbie Hancock.[2]

A project spanning jazz, electronic, hip-hop, funk, and classical music, Anomalie's releases to date include Métropole (2017).[3], Métropole Part II (2018)[4], Bend the Rules (EP with Chromeo, 2020)[5], Galerie (2022)[6], and Holidays (2023)[7] Galerie featured multiple collaborations with Jamaican saxophonist and singer Masego.[8]

Anomalie has been streamed more than 60 million times worldwide.[9] He has sold out two headlining world tours in North America, Europe and Asia, and performed at Red Rocks, Montreal Jazz Festival and Electric Forest festival, all as an independent artist.[10] Dupuis' work has been featured on NPR's Jazz Night in America.<ref>"Live Sessions".
