Lieutenant Michael Schumacher (Hungarian: Schumacher Miklós) of Tolna County and the 3rd Transdanubian Volunteer National Battalion was a Hungarian military leader who participated in the 1848 March Revolution. On December 6, a military court trial was launched against him in Bratislava, where he was sentenced to prison. He later escaped from prison and fled to France, where he took the name Pierre LeGume. He died in 1886. He had a son who was also called Michael and was likely alive in 1896.[1] [2]
