Mehdi Siadat was born in Tehran in 1973 and became interested in music in his childhood.

He first started playing the Santur, Persian Hammered Dulcimer, in 1982 with Ms. Roya Hallaj at the Center for the Preservation and Dissemination of Music. In 1987, he was honored to be accepted by maestro Faramarz Payvar and his long music career under his great supervision started.

He participated in Fajr Music Festival twice on 1992 and 1996 in both years he won the first place of the festival and succeeded in receiving awards, commendations and diplomas of honor for his solo Santur performance.

In 1992 and 1993, he collaborated with the “Mezrabi Orchestra” which was conducted by maestro Hossein Dehlavi. He also did a master’s degree in agricultural engineering. Mehdi performed in different music events and concerts all around the world over a period of thirty years. As a member of the “Javan Ensemble” with the leadership of maestro MohammadAli KianiNejad, he performed several concerts in Iran.

Mehdi Siadat is a permanent member of the Iran Music House and a member of the Cimbalom World Association in Hungary.

Awards

Mehdi Siadat attained certificate of completion of the santur course from the great maestro Faramarz Payvar after a career of 12 years.

Mehdi was awarded twice as the best player of the year in Fajr Music Festival in 1992 and 1996.

Teaching Experience

Mehdi has a long career of over 26 years as a music teacher. He has instructed in several music institutes in different cities in Iran like Tehran and Kerman.

He has been teaching music in “Kanoon Music Institute”, “Taraneh Music Institute” and “Soroush Music Institute” from 2003 to date.

Mehdi Siadat held Santur performance master classes in Central Conservatory of Music in China in 2014 and 2015.
