Mau is a small village of 341 hectares in Ramsanehighat Tehsil in Barabanki district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mau depends on Siddhaur (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mau's pin code is 225413[4], and village code is 05821900. The area of Mau is segregated as 221 hectares irrigated area. and remaining 41 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mau has One post office (Maugorpur B.O) and One public telephone. Mau has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Siddhaur (NP) and Barabanki to sell opium and make their living.
