Makaraha is a small village of 349.3 hectares in Burhanpur Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Makaraha depends on Atraulia (NP) , the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Makaraha's pin code is 223223[4], and village code is 08501900. The area of Makaraha is segregated as 221 hectares irrigated area. the 2.85 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 3.094 hectare area not available for cultivation.
