Mahmoud E. Olwan
Mahmoud E. Olwan (born September 15, 1995) is a Palestinian equestrian and athlete, who has been recognized as The Olympic Palestinian Equestrian. Mahmoud has been often described as a talented and skilled equestrian who can be dominant in professional equestrianism. Known for his top horseback riding skills. He was rewarded as the best Equestrian rider in Palestine by the Palestinian Equestrian Federation.[1]
Mahmoud has become an inspiration for youth in Palestine, who are looking to pursue their career in athletics. He has been trained in the United States at Echo Glen Equestrian Center by Eric Noel.[2] He is trying to compete at the next Olympics.
Mahmoud has gained attention for his efforts to become a professional equestrian and was able to garner a following on his social handles. He has been also covered by several high-tier news media and publications for his passion by NYWeekly, KivoDaily, LAWire and several others.[3]
Biography
Mahmoud was born on 15 September 1995 in Gaza to Emad Olwan and Nadia Olwan. He was raised in Gaza Strip, Palestine. Mahmoud started riding when he was 7 years old, his uncle was having a club, the first club in Palestine for riding horses. His uncle was very passionate and found that Mahmoud was very determined, disciplined, and willing to learn to sacrifice playing unlike any other children of his age.
He finished his high school and went to medical school at Al Azhar University for two years until he decided to pursue his dream and goal to move to the USA to be a professional Equestrian Showjumper to bring honor and happiness to his family. Mahmoud moved in 2015 to Florida USA, and as of 2022, he lives in Oregon.[4]
Mahmoud is trying to compete at the next Paris Olympics.[5]
