Kookawas is a small village of 377 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kookawas depends on Pindwara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 12.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. Kookawas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Kookawas's pin code is 307025[4], and village code is 03101100. The area of Kookawas is segregated as 12 hectares irrigated area, 82 hectares unirrigated, the 45 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 9.69 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Pindwara and Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
