Karanpur is a small village of 112.9 hectares in Burhanpur Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Karanpur depends on Ahraura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply which is 40.06% of the total supply, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap.
