Shadananan Nair was one of the pioneers of the Nair community in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Samastha Kerala Vilakkithala Nair Samajam was the first Nair organization founded by him in 1899 to organize the Vilakkithala Nairs as the first step towards the goal of uniting the avant-garde castes of the Nairs into a single community.. Shadananan Nair was a member of the Sreemoolam Prajasabha, an activist and teacher in the Malayalee Sabha.C. Krishna Pillai gave him the support he needed.
