At Rutgers, he was class and student body president, served on the Rutgers Board of Trustees, and was a national debate club champion. He was also a tennis professional and helped run the Rutgers summer tennis program. During law school, he served as editor-in-chief of a law school publication and received a national scholarship for a paper on intellectual property. In 2013, Brown founded the law firm Brown, LLC, which focuses on whistleblower cases under the False Claims Act and other statutes, mass torts, class actions, and other complex litigation. He has tried cases to verdict all over the country and has sometimes obtained settlements and judgments for the maximum amount possible under the law. Brown, LLC is a mid-sized firm with roughly 25 individuals, including other Department of Justice Alumni.[5]

Brown, LLC is recognized for its work in protecting whistleblowers and has been rated as a prominent force in False Claims Act litigation by Lex Machina, which reported Brown, LLC as the second most prolific False Claims Act firm in the country. The firm has been involved in several significant cases, such as the Temple University falsified rankings scandal, which resulted in a multi-million-dollar settlement. Brown was also the first attorney in the country to file a series of cases against a major pharmaceutical company, leading to a $100 million settlement.
