Don Kilam (born September 16, 1987) is an American rapper, music artist, producer, entrepreneur, author, and speaker. He is best known as the best-selling author of over 60 titles on Amazon.

Kilam has gained recognition for his musical releases from industry peers and garnered attention from the media for it. He uses his music and experiences to motivate people in overcoming life’s obstacles and achieving prosperity. Kilam has gained an ever-growing following on Instagram and YouTube with over 48.6K followers and 12.2K subscribers respectively.[1]

Early life

Don Kilam was born on September 16, 1987, in Quincy, Illinois as Jeffery Wayne McBride Jr. Don. Kilam had a struggling childhood. He has 3 siblings and he is the middle of the four.

Growing up, Kilam faced several obstacles including homelessness and serving 7 years of federal prison time with respect to counterfeiting money at the age of 17. His peers often bullied him at school for his appearance and family circumstances. He grew up watching his parents fight and abuse each other along with alcoholism. Kilam began writing poems at the age of 12, as a way to deal with his aunt’s demise. He began writing about the things he faced at home, saw in the neighbourhood, and his life. Soon people started listening to what he wrote and he gained popularity. At 17, while serving his time in prison, Kilam decided to take studies more seriously and learned about law and government rules, and spiritual aspects.[2]

Career

Don Kilam recorded his first official song in 2019, “Dreams Obey Narrators”, which received 25,000 views on YouTube within the first week of release. In mid 2022, Kilam signed a label record deal with Ima Kill It Music Group through a joint venture with Fresco Kane & Good Year Records. At the end of 2022, Kilam released a jazzy beat and down south flow music with his single “We Made It” with a selfie music video.[3] By 2023, he plans to release an album and movies and states Drake’s Lyrics when asked about his new projects “Don’t push me when I’m in album mode.” Kilam is also the founder of multiple online businesses along with several successful collaborations within the music industry as an artist and producer.[4]

Kilam has also emerged as a Nationwide speaker and influencer. He has traveled to more than 40 states, delivering speeches, improving their lives by teaching them that prosperity is their birthright, and laying down the foundation through financial education and self-awareness.[5] He is the best-selling author of over 60 titles, most notable ones including “Trusting Yourself”, “A Million Dollars Worth Of Game”, and “Word Is Bond”.[6]
