Dr. Dana Corriel is an American board-certified internal medicine physician, digital healthcare expert, and entrepreneur.[1] She is the founder and CEO of SoMeDocs (Doctors on Social Media), a platform designed to help healthcare professionals establish their online presence and professional autonomy.[2][3]

Dr. Corriel specializes in personal branding, marketing, content creation, and business strategy within the healthcare sector.[4] Her work has been featured in publications such as the LA Times, Boston Globe, and HuffPost, and she has spoken at various conferences, including the Harvard Writer's Healthcare CME Conference.[5]

Early life and education

Dr. Corriel was born in Israel and moved to Walnut, California, at age 10. She earned a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1999. She received her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in 2003. She obtained board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in May 2013.

Career

Dr. Corriel is an internal medicine specialist at Nyack Hospital in Pearl River, NY, with over 20 years of experience in the medical field. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. She subsequently served as an assistant professor of medicine at Mount Sinai and became a director of quality at Highland Medical in New York in 2017.[6]

Dr. Corriel transitioned from a practicing physician to a digital healthcare expert after recognizing the potential of social media to empower healthcare professionals.[7][8][9]

In 2017, Dr. Corriel established SoMeDocs (Doctors on Social Media) as an online platform and Facebook group that connects physicians globally, offering networking opportunities and resources to build online brands. SoMeDocs helps physicians connect with their target audience, establish online authority, and promote professional autonomy.[10] The platform features a doctor directory, a job board, and various content resources, such as a magazine, podcast, and virtual events.[11] Over the years, SoMeDocs has amassed over 40,000 followers across various social media channels.[12][13]

Dr. Corriel actively contributes to the healthcare digital space through articles, content creation, and organizing events. She has spoken at various conferences, including a panel discussion at PRWeek in May 2022 and a keynote lecture at the 2021 Global Virtual Summit.[14] Her work has been featured in publications such as the LA Times, EP Lab Digest, Boston Globe, Huff Post, Gastro, Medical Economics, SELF, and Medscape. Dr. Corriel also serves as guest faculty at the Harvard Healthcare Writers’ Conference and hosts professional development summits through SoMeDocs.[15][16][17]

Dr. Corriel resides in New York City, United States. She is married and has three sons.
