Dad is a small village of 561 hectares in Simalwara Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Dad depends on Salumbar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 9.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Dad is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Dad's pin code is 314030[4], and village code is 03324600. The area of Dad is segregated as 9 hectares irrigated area, 305 hectares unirrigated, the 223 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 24 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Salumbar and Dungarpur to sell juggary and make their living.
