Crescent Ballroom is a 550 capacity music venue, lounge, and home to the Cocina 10 restaurant located in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.[1] It opened on October 4th, 2011 (Blind Pilot was the inaugural performance).[2]

History

The Crescent Ballroom building was constructed in 1917 and was originally The F.L. Hart Garage.[3][4]

In the summer of 2011 a group headed by Charlie Levy,[5] founder of Stateside Presents[6] and co-founder of Western Tread Recordings, renovated the building into a music venue, restaurant, and lounge.[7] The name Crescent is in reference to the original Phoenician crescent moon emblem and a nod to Levy's hometown New Orleans, the "Crescent City."[8]

Present Day

Since opening, the Crescent Ballroom has hosted diverse offerings of music, spoken word, and special events.

On November 18, 2012 AJJ (band) recorded the last show of their 2012 tour at the Crescent Ballroom to produce Live at the Crescent Ballroom.[9] The set was performed by the full band, featuring Jeff Rosenstock of Bomb the Music Industry!.[10]

In 2020, the Crescent Ballroom was listed as Arizona's top small music venue by Yelp and Vivid Seats.[11]
