Chewata is a small village of 202 hectares in Sagri Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chewata depends on Mahrajganj (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sourcesOne canal. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Chewata's pin code is 276141[4], and village code is 08572700.

Chewata has One post office (Chewata B.O) and One public telephone. Chewata has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Chewata is a census village in the district of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The village has a total population of 2470 and has total administration over 384 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
