Chauru is a small village of 4757 hectares in Phagi Tehsil in Jaipur district, also known as the Pink City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chauru depends on Bagru, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Chauru is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Chauru's pin code is 303005[4], and village code is 01529000. The area of Chauru is segregated as 333.28 hectares irrigated area, 3684.65 hectares unirrigated, the 421.18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 317.5 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 1614 male, 1235 female with 2012 (70.62%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1391 males and 621 females. 493 males and 309 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 288 male and 58 female agricultural labor. 837 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bagru and Jaipur to sell leather shoes and make their living.
