Chaul bara is a famous food (snacks, break-fast) of western Odisha. It is made of rice. Mixing rice and Black gram (Biri) in 10:1 ratio and soak the mixture in fresh water for at least 5 hours. Filter out the water and grind it with a grinder or mixture in a thick form. In the mixture add a little amount crushed onion and a pinch of baking soda. And dropping the thick mixture in warm oil, it will be ready to eat when it looks red and crunchy.
