Chamawan is a small village of 125 hectares in Phulpur Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Chamawan depends on Phulpur (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Chamawan's pin code is 276304[4], and village code is 08798800. The area of Chamawan is segregated as 81 hectares irrigated area, 21 hectares unirrigated area. the 10 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 18 hectare area not available for cultivation.
