CEO.CA is a stock market dashboard and community for investors and traders.[1] Since its inception in 2012, the platform has emerged as an industry leader for audience engagement and mobile functionality. CEO.CA is best known as a platform for investors to discuss stocks, commodities, and emerging companies. There is also a focus on insider trades, using Canada’s System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI).[2]

CEO.CA was founded with the aim to create a community especially for investors and traders in junior resource & venture stocks. The company is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and has a membership of CEOs, portfolio managers, and investors from over 164 countries. It is recognized as one of the most popular free financial websites and apps in Canada and for investors globally.[3]

History

CEO.CA was founded in 2012 by Tommy Humphreys with the aim to create a community dedicated to investors and traders in junior resource & venture stocks. After years of consulting for various clients including Cambridge House, an investment conference company, Humphreys acquired the CEO.CA domain under his company PacWebCo.[4] Humphrey’s paid a total of CAD$4,000 including a deposit of one ounce of gold for the domain.[5]

Since 2012 the platform has added features such as paper trades, a virtual trading mechanism, newswire releases and private messaging functionality. Over 8 million active users and over 18 million monthly page views have been recorded on CEO.CA.[6] The site is one of the most active stock market dashboards and forums, particularly for small-cap investments. CEO.CA’s platform is designed to help investors engage and learn with message boards, news, executive interviews, expert analysis, and sector-driven content offered by members.

On August 16, 2021, CEO.CA announced its acquisition by GoldSpot Discoveries Corp. for CAD$17 million ($11 million in GoldSpot common shares, $6 million in cash). GoldSpot Discoveries completed the acquisition of CEO.CA on October 4, 2021.[7]
