Boston Billups (born August 24, 2005) is an American professional football player, who plays as an attacking midfielder and winger for Serbian Superliga club FK IMT. Billups is notable for being only one of 15 Americans to have ever played in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Early Life and Education
Born in Lake Oswego, Oregon, Billups attended the Catlin Gabel School in Portland, Oregon, from 2011 to 2019. Upon moving to Barcelona, Spain he later attended the American School of Barcelona from 2019 to 2021. Currently, in level 12, he attends the International School of Belgrade in Belgrade, Serbia where he plans to graduate with an IB Diploma.
Youth Career
Portland Timbers Academy (2017 - 2019)
On August 3, 2017, Billups began his youth career with the Portland Timbers Academy in Portland, Oregon where he played in the U13, U14 and early U15 age groups.
CE L’Hospitalet (2019 - 2020)
On October 25, 2019 Billups officially joined CE L’Hospitalet in Barcelona as a U15 player after finally receiving his Catalan football license from the FCF.
Atlètic Sant Just (2020 - 2021)
On February 27, 2020, Billups joined Atlètic Sant Just in Sant Just Desvern, Spain for the second half of his U15 season. Shortly thereafter, the FCF season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the FCF officially restarted matches in October of 2020 and the Spring of 2021, Billups’ U16 Cadete A squad was the first-ever football 11 team from the club to promote from the Preferente category in Catalonia to the top flight category known as the División de Honor.
Vic Riuprimer Refo FC (2021)
On September 29, 2021, Billups joined youth club, Vic Riuprimer Refo FC, as a U17 player. Shortly after arriving at the club in late September, Billups made the decision with his parents to pursue schooling and football in Belgrade, Serbia.
Red Star Belgrade (aka FK Crvena Zvezda: 2022 - 2023)
In mid-January 2022, Boston Billups arrived at Red Star Belgrade, where he was unable to play the second half of his U17 season due to a FIFA transfer window issue. Billups trained for six months at the Red Star Belgrade school until he officially joined the club on July 8, 2022 where he played his U18 season.
Professional Career
FK IMT (2023 - Present)
In early October of 2023 Boston Billups joined FK IMT from Red Star Belgrade to transition from youth to Professional. On February 7, 2024, Billups signed a first team contract with FK IMT. On February 11, 2024, Billups made his professional debut against FK TSC.
Malta Football National Team (2024 - Present)
At just 18 years old, Boston Billups has already made a significant impact on the football scene. Billups showcased exceptional talent and dedication from a young age, catching the attention of national team selectors with his impressive performances at the youth level.
