Binuclear Complex
Binuclear complex is a class of complexes containing two metal centers in its chemical structure. These metal centers are connected by bridging ligands (commonly) or metal-metal interactions. The metal centers could be the same or different. There are four types of these complexes including: 1) Homo Metal Symmetric Binuclear Complexes, 2) Homo Metal Asymmetric Binuclear Complexes[1], 3) Hetero Metal Symmetric Binuclear Complexes, 4) Hetero Metal Asymmetric Binuclear Complexes. For example binuclear complexes of cadmium[2], lead[3], copper[4], mercury[5][6] and zinc[7] have been reported.
