Monnet has been often featured in many international media houses.[7][8]

Biography

Baptiste Monnet was born on 19 February 1994, in Ang Thong, Thailand. He grew up in Châteauneuf-Conthey, a village which is located near Sion un the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Monnet was abandoned by his biological parents at birth. While he was doomed to certain death, a good soul picked him up and took him to Ang Thong Hospital. He received first aid as soon as he arrived and that is how he survived. He stayed at this establishment for three months and then was hosted at the Phayathai Children's House in Bangkok. It was then that he was named Master Oh Klaitanode. He spent the first two years of his life in this orphanage home. He arrived in Switzerland in 1997. At that time, he got to know not only his adoptive parents but also his sister and brother, both of whom were also adopted. His mother, a hairdresser by profession, worked in her own salon right next to their apartment and his father was a house painter and also ran his own business. His father liked to be served and treated them (siblings and Monnet) as his "servants". Monnet broke ties with his father since he was fourteen, the reason is that he has been through so much bad stuff and this despite his absence.[9][10][11]

His parents separated and divorced. The separation from his parents was for him a real questioning of his origins.[12] He wanted to get to know his natural parents, but they abandoned him, that was an unanswered question.  When his parents divorced, a big questioning arose. The feeling that prevailed at the time was that he had already been abandoned the first time and that he was abandoned a second time. Monnet took refuge in cannabis and alcohol, which allowed him to escape, and suddenly, he had the power to decide to change his life.[13]

The fact of being able to complete an apprenticeship put him back on the right path.[14] He absolutely wanted to get his diploma and use the opportunity that he had to be able to do quality training. Around the age of sixteen, he also revised his values, he developed a sense of justice and order.[15] He was training now for the sole purpose of becoming a police officer.[16]

The job of a police officer was for him the most beautiful job in the world: righteousness, respect, hierarchy, uniform, etc.[17] So, he was working hard to get his logistician diploma, which was done in 2013. Professionally, always with a view to joining the police, he trained in the field of private security by performing various large-scale services. While he had been working in this field for a few months, the company where he had completed his apprenticeship contacted him again.[18] Indeed, his former bosses were looking for a logistician.[19] So they thought of him.[20] Very flattered by this proposal, he accepted and returned to the company on March 1, 2014, as a qualified logistics specialist.[21] While during his apprenticeship, he practiced his profession in the "tiling sector", he found himself in the "materials sector", a completely unknown place (products, articles, surface area). During those two years of work, he was under constant pressure.[22]

As he had built himself a shell, he never let go, he always had the ambition to someday be part of a police force.[23] So, he applied four times to two academies as well as once to the border guard corps.  In order to be accepted, he made all possible and unimaginable sacrifices, passing the entrance tests on his days off, removed his visible tattoos with a laser at a specialist.[24] During this same period, Monnet found himself weakened.  As he had invested so much physically and had to overcome difficult stages emotionally, he told himself that this fatigue was normal.  However, this state of exhaustion continued, which prompted him to go to his GP.  After various tests and blood tests, the results came in and they did not bode well.  Indeed, he had problems with his liver.  The doctor immediately informed him that it was hereditary, and in particular that his place of origin was mainly affected.  Life is definitely good for him because, according to his doctor, it was the last time to take life-saving treatment.  Although this news was a real blow, as usual, he did not let himself be defeated. Since the police didn't want him, he turned his back on them once and for all. He undertook security training alongside his initial job.  He graduated, recognized throughout Switzerland, at 22 years old. As he was fed up with unhealthy situations at work and wanted to work in a safety-related profession, he quitted.[25]

He supplemented his skills by doing additional training. The ultimate goal was to leave Switzerland to do other training related to this field.  At the same time, Monnet was hired in a Casino "House of Games" in Switzerland as a security guard.  The night hours were exhausting him with his infectious disease.[26] Furthermore, the working atmosphere was not optimal.  Following the significant events going against him, despite all his good will and his warrior spirit, he ended up having a burnout in mid-June 2016. Monnet resigned for the end of July 2016. he found himself unemployed.  Grieving the loss of the security job because of his illness, of course, didn't help improve his mental health.  He was exhausted, soggy, disappointed with everything that was going on in his life. He had already endured so much that the Casino episode was the straw that broke the camel's back.[27] At that time, He felt a deep sense of injustice in addition to that of abandonment.[28] He decided to leave Switzerland, he needed a change of air, to breathe and to see something else. On the other hand, he wanted to put itself in difficulty and arrive in an unfamiliar environment.[29] So he parachuted into Canada.  To make it worse, Monnet chose the English-speaking part of the country.[30] Thus, he began his rebirth in Toronto on March 11, 2017. When he returned to Switzerland, he did a few odd jobs and then worked as a social educator - coach in the field of integration and reintegration for adults.  Unfortunately, his state of health made him terminate this project.  One of the motivations was to be able to complete this training in order to give his the opportunity to work in Canada.[31] Baptiste Monnet had to face failure, rejection, and many obstacles in life before he found his feet. He revealed that he only succeeded because of his passion for adventure and his spirit of perseverance. He shared his outlook on life by explaining that life generally offers two options: "stand still and wait or move and make things happen." He emphasized that it is crucial to know yourself before pursuing or committing to a path. He recommends that everyone tune their mind and equip it.[32][33][34]
