Bankatiya is a small village of 153.3 hectares in Sagri Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Bankatiya depends on Dohrighat (NP), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Bankatiya's pin code is 276136[4], and village code is 08624800. The area of Bankatiya is segregated as 106.76 hectares irrigated area, 7.4 hectares unirrigated area. the 24.78 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 22.47 hectare area not available for cultivation.
