Asta is a small village of 492.1 hectares in Auraiya Tehsil in Auraiya district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Asta depends on Auraiya (MB), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply which is 2.36% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers,Two canals and Two springs. Asta is also surrounded byTwo lakes. They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Auraiya (MB) and Auraiya to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
