Arav is a small village of 84 hectares in Handia Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Arav depends on Baraut MB, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tubewell and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Arav's pin code is 221503[4], and village code is 05585500. The area of Arav is segregated as 55 hectares irrigated area, 10 hectares unirrigated area. the 10 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 9 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Baraut MB and Allahabad to sell carpet and make their living.
