Alampur is a small village of 108 hectares in Phulpur Tehsil in Azamgarh district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Alampur depends on Ahraura, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Alampur's pin code is 223221[4], and village code is 08544900. The area of Alampur is segregated as 152 hectares irrigated area, 14 hectares unirrigated area. the 9 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 9 hectare area not available for cultivation.
