5 AP is a small village of 354 hectares in Suratgarh Tehsil in Ganganagar district, established by Maharaja Ganga Singh and known as one of the first well-planned modern cities of India, and is greatly influenced by the town planning of Paris in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. 5 AP depends on SURATGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. 5 AP is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. 5 AP's pin code is 335704[4], and village code is 00279000. The area of 5 AP is segregated as 86 hectares irrigated area, 243 hectares unirrigated, the 20 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 5 hectare area not available for cultivation.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SURATGARH and Ganganagar to sell earthen pots and make their living.
