2020–21 Slovak Cup
The 2019–20 Slovak Cup is the 52st edition of the Slovak Cup. The tournament began on 25 July 2020.
ŠK Slovan Bratislava is the defending champions having won the previous season's Cup by defeating MFK Ružomberok in the final match ending 1–0.
The winner of the Slovak Cup earns automatic qualification for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League#First qualifying round|first qualifying round in UEFA Europa League. If they have already qualified for the 2021–22 UEFA Champions League or 2021–22 UEFA Europa League through position in the 2020–21 Slovak First Football League, then the spot will go to the team which will win Qualification for Europa League play-offs in 2020–21 Slovak First Football League
The Cup this season was a knockout tournament contested between 229 clubs – one more than in the previous edition. Join to the competition should teams from first five highest football competitions and two winners of the Regional Cups. Matches which were level after regulation advanced to penalties to determine a winner. Each round of the cup was contested over one leg with the exception of the semi-finals which were contested over two legs.
In this season, the fixed amount of prize money paid to the clubs is as follows:
- Winning the Final: €50,000
- Losing finalist: €20,000
- Semi-finals: €5,000
The most successful club from the regional football associations will receive a financial reward of 3,000€, if they end before semifinal. Teams that participate in the 1st and 2nd round will receive match balls (for home club five and for away club three).
101 matches in the first round will be played from 25th July 2020 to 2nd August 2020. The first round is regional, which means that, only teams from one region meet each other. Matches of the first round draw the divisional football associations.
