Virginia Salas Kastilio is a serial entrepreneur, speaker, influencer, advisor, host and Snapchat strategist.[1] Founder of I Trust You Movement and Gini TV, Salas Kastilio has been named the world’s number one Female Snapchat Business Influencer by the Inc. Magazine. She is best known as the first person to create a personal brand on Snapchat and often regarded as the queen of Snapchat business strategy. Salas Kastilio is the face behind the I Trust You Movement, a movement where she is trying to connect humanity and bring more responsiveness among the people.

Salas Kastilio has an internet celebrity status on Snapchat, who rose to prominence and gained popularity on social media platforms.[2] She is also credited as the host of “The Ghosties”, the first Snapchat awards in London. Her story of coming from nothing to the top Business Snapchat Influencer has been covered by several media and news outlets. Salas Kastilio was nominated #6 in a list of Inc.[3] Magazine's top 26 Women to Change the World, after Jessica Alba #5.

She is known for advising several Blockchain projects and is a mentor for influential thought-leaders. Salas Kastilio has helped several leaders to build a social network and gain the traction for a better presence. During her early career, Salas Kastilio has worked for companies like Apple and Oracle and has partnered with BBC, Nasdaq and Universal Studios amongst others to help them with their social media presence and marketing strategy.[4]

Early life and education

Salas Kastilio was born in Berlin, Germany in 1989. Ever since then she has lived a nomadic life. At the age of 3 she moved to Miami Florida where she attended St. Agatha Catholic School and County Walk Public School. At the age of 7, Salas Kastilio along with her mother went travelling through the Caribbean for a few months.[5] Living a life on the road Salas Kastilio lived in Germany, Spain, Dominican Republic, back and forth, changing schools 13 times until the age of 16.

When Salas Kastilio turned 16 she moved out of her parents house in Ingolstadt, Germany and was accepted to the University of Salzburg as a extraordinary student.[6] She struggled harshly with finances, receiving €150 a month support from the German Government and €150 a month child support from her father, where she studied Psychology at the University of Salzburg for a year. Then Salas Kastilio attended high school at BRG Hallein, after which she shifted to Sydney, Australia for a year.

At the age of 20, Salas Kastilio returned back to Salzburg and studied Sociology and English Literature for 5 semesters, and at 22 she got offered a job at Apple Inc. in Cork, Ireland.

Career

Salas Kastilio started her career in 2012, when she joined Apple Inc., Ireland as a Sales Specialist and when she left she was EMEIA Sales Manager and in charge of 1 billion annual revenue for Apple. She worked nearly 2 years at Apple and shifted to Malaga, Spain, where she got a job as an Account Manager at Oracle. Salas Kastilio worked at Oracle for about a year, before she decided to follow her dreams of being and entrepreneur, travel the world and brand herself as a “Happiness Researcher” under her brand “Ginicanbreathe” in 2015. As a result of that travel and research Salas Kastilio started the I Trust You organisation in 2016 that works on recreating humanity and reconnecting the Earth. An organisation that focuses on life conservation, education and provides a platform for those who support this idea.

Salas Kastilio’s widespread reach was much appreciated by BBC London which resulted in her becoming their Snapchat Producer for the year 2016. From the success of her work with the BBC, Salas Kastilio got invited to speak at high level conferences all over the world such as VidCon and STEP Dubai, from which she created her disruptive marketing agency in 2017 - Gini.Tv that assists brands with PR, marketing, analytics, branding and other services. Gini.Tv helps create online awareness and build social influence for businesses. In the year 2018, she was appointed as a council member for Forbes Agency, Los Angeles.[7]

In the wake of COVID19 pandemic, Salas Kastilio co-founded Humans Trust Logistics in 2020 as a relief project for the healthcare workers and patients.

She is also the founder of Humans I Trust, which is a part of the “I Trust You” ecosystem and co-founder of The Organism Limited, Hong Kong.

Other work

Apart from her exemplary work as an entrepreneur, Salas Kastilio has also worked in Hollywood, where she was a stand in and double for Amanda Bynes in ‘Love Wrecked.’ She is also a contributing writer for Influencive, Forbes and others. Recognition Salas Kastilio is often recognized as a Social media influencer and expert by Forbes, Entrepreneur, INC magazine and several others. She was named as one of the 9 Top Social Media Influencers Marketers Need to Follow by Entrepreneur magazine in 2017 and INC magazine listed her as number one Female Snapchat Business Influencer.[8]

Personal life

Salas Kastilio has had a life on the road, she has lived in the USA, Germany, Spain, Australia, Austria and Indonesia. She is a native speaker of English, German and Spanish, and also knows basic French and Italian.
