9 SD is a small village of 184 hectares in Suratgarh Tehsil in Ganganagar district, established by Maharaja Ganga Singh and known as one of the first well-planned modern cities of India, and is greatly influenced by the town planning of Paris in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. 9 SD depends on SURATGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, One canal and Two springs. 9 SD is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. 9 SD's pin code is 335523[4], and village code is 00274000. The area of 9 SD is segregated as 138.94 hectares irrigated area, 35.17 hectares unirrigated, remaining 9.5 hectare area not available for cultivation.
